The human aura is a field of energy that is so subtle yet so radiant that surrounds us. It is an extension of our physical body.
Auras are related to the electromagnetic field of the human body and serve as a visual measure of how the state is of each energetic body:
● physical,
● emotional,
● mental and
● spiritual
Our auras are ever-changing as it’s completely affected by everything that we do or think. The aura is also affected by other energies such as the surrounding environment, the force fields of the solar system, and the energies of other creatures, such as humans, animals, plants, etc.
Think of the aura as your energetic signature. You have a “signature” that represents your unique physical form (fingerprints), your aura represents your unique energetic form.
You shower and take care of your physical body daily, and your spiritual body is no different. Protecting and Cleansing or “Sweeping” your aura is important to your spiritual hygiene.
A 3-Step Process to daily cleanse and protection
1. ALIGN or ground yourself
2. SWEEP or cleanse
3. PROTECT.
Before sweeping and protecting, align your energies.

To reconnect with the earth’s surface. To reconnect with oneself and the moment. Other names for aligning are Grounding or Earthing.
● Pain reduction
● Thinning of the blood
● Decrease inflammation
According to 2013 study published in the Journal of Environmental and Public Health: found that there were several documented effects of earthing to help with anxiety.
The free electrons that your body receives from direct contact with the earth’s surface can have an antioxidant effect on the free radicals threatening to damage your body. Aging is slowed.
● Stress management
● Relaxation
● De-escalate from heightened feelings associated with anxiety: Rapid heartbeat, fatigue, restlessness, rapid breathing, irritability, upset stomach, muscle aches
1. breathe deeply and slowly
2. as your body calms down, bring yourself to the present moment
3. resume the current activity.
You might select one of the following strategies that makes you feel more relaxed, or find your own method that aligns your energy
Take a moment to do some deep breathing exercises. For example, the 4-7-8:
1. Breathe in for four counts
2. Hold for 7 counts
3. Let out your breath for 8 counts
4. Repeat at least three times
Go for a walk. Stroll through the park. One example is the Color Walk:
1. Select a color before the walk
2. As you step out, notice that color around you
You will notice things that you may have passed by often and didn’t know they were there!
Lay down in your backyard on the grass or on a blanket and look up at the sky. Watch the clouds go by. Look for the shapes of animals, people, or other familiar objects.
Go outside and sit against a tree. Press your spine up against the hard pressure of the tree trunk. Inhale the smells of the tree, the soil, and other elements in the landscape.
Light an aromatherapy candle and take a hot bath. Feel the heat on your skin. Move slightly and watch the ripples in the water. Watch as the light changes direction, becoming fragmented by the ripples.
Drive down to the beach. Remove your shoes and feel the sand massaging the soles of your feet as you walk on the sand. Each bit of sand has its own texture. Moving over the uneven surface stimulates the pressure points in your feet. Focusing on this sensation distracts you from what’s causing anxiety.

Cleanse.
Select from one of the three following exercises or find your own way of sweeping off the dirt from your aura.
Smudge. Smudging is a Native American practice that utilizes the use of white sage to cleanse any negative energy.
1. Stand on a surface that will not be harmed by falling ash.
2. Take a regular, white sage smudge stick in your power hand (the hand you write with) and light it. Allow the flame to go out and wait until you see a stream of smoke coming from the stick.
3. Gently move the stick in front of you starting with your head and moving side to side downwards towards your feet keeping the stick about six to ten inches away from your body. It should take you at least 8-10 seconds to go from your head to your toes but you can do longer.
4. Then move the stick around your head, taking care not to get the burning part of the stick too close to your hair or clothing.
5. Move the stick behind you to get your lower back and behind.
6. Then move the stick down the back of your legs. You may switch hands during this process if you find you can reach better.
When you are not grounded, then you are floating around in the ether with other energies that might be negative, toxic, or energies you don’t want to mix in with. There are many ways, to STAY grounded. It takes daily motivation to do so. Here are two simple ways:
● Stand barefoot on the grass. It’s the quickest way to ground yourself and be on the same energy as Mother Earth.
● Another way is to hug a tree! Yes, I know it sounds cheesy to some people. Trees are amazing beings that will ground you and eliminate any negative energy within you, sometimes within just a few minutes.
It is an easy way to cleanse your aura of negative energy. It doesn’t feel like sweeping, but as a general, delightful sensation. Sea Salt has a cleansing and purifying effect on your aura and the magnesium in the sea salt helps multiple functions in your body as well. When feeling drained, immerse yourself in warm sea salt bath and let your energy get restored.

To guard against the destructive effects of toxic emotions, such as Fear, Anger and Resentment.
1. Take 3 deep breaths. Get centered and connected to the Universal Powers.
2. Now imagine a bright white light shining from “The Divine, The Universe, God, whatever you believe in” down to the crown of your head.
3. Now Imagine that light spreading and covering your entire body from head to toe. You are now protected by a pure white invisible bubble.
4. Set your intention to have a GREAT day, request that the bubble act as your shield protecting you from negative energies.
Carry a piece of Hematite crystal with you. Hematite is one of the best-known crystals for protecting against negative energy.
Other protective stones: Obsidian, Tiger Eye
Working with an energy healer who has the knowledge and expertise in that field can help you clear any blockages you might have. Also, it removes the guesswork; healers like Lu have dedicated their lives to learning the craft and they do amazing work. So, book a session. If you prefer to find your own, they are not that hard to find. Google “energy healer near me” and you are most likely able to find somebody.
Making ASP a daily practice will maintain your energies aligned, clean and protected from negative energies. Your life can be fruitful, at peace, and safe. Remember that it is better to be protected every day than having to get cleansed when things start to go bad for you. It only takes a minute to ask for protection.
